Rabbi Ephraim and his wife Malki Guttentag are the senior rabbinic couple for Whitefield
Rabbi Ephraim Guttentag was brought up in Gateshead. He made aliya and studied at yeshivah in Israel, where he met Malki and gained semicha.
Malki Guttentag grew up in London. She too studied in Israel, where she met Ephraim.
They were married in London and became the rabbinic couple overseeing the education programme at Hale Synagogue, under Rabbi Portnoy. Following this they lead the community at St Annes on Sea, and then as the community development couple at Hampstead Garden Suburbs Synagogue, before returning north to join us in Whitefield.
